Govco Ladies Wins Football Cup, Akatsico 2010 Finals

The Ladies football team of Govco has won the final football cup at the Akatsico 2010 inter-colleges sports competition. Govco defeated Akatsico by 3:1 in penalty shoot outs to lift the cup. Govco Ladies also won almost all of the athletics events in the competition. A big salute to the Govco Ladies Sports Team, the entire Govco Sports Team and the Jama Group for their big support. Akatsico 2010 was rough and tough for the Govco men football team, however GOVCO manage to beat FRANCO by 1:0 to place third in football in the Akatsico 2010 inter-colleges sports competition. Well done to the Govco men football team.

Govco Qualifies For Finals, Akatsico 2010 Day 4

The ladies soccer team of Govco has qualified for the final match of the ladies competition. The men soccer team was not able to qualify to the finals as they were beaten in the semis by Akatsico the host college.

Govco Qualifies For Semis, Would Play Akatsico: Akatsico 2010 Day 3

The Govco men soccer team has qualified for the soccer semi-finals at the on going inter-colleges sports competition taking place at Akatsi College of Education. It took Govco some luck as they finished the group stage with 2 points and 0 goal difference at par with Ameco which Govco lost to in their previous match. However Ameco got beaten in their last group stage match against DATCO by 2:1 bringing AMECO’s goal difference to -1 and putting Govco ahead to qualify for the semi-finals.

Akatsico 2010 Day 1 Rundown

GOVCO lost their first football match to DATCO in a 2:0 penalty shoot out after a 3:3 draw in a 90min and extra time play time. The specular 3 goals for GOVCO were scored by 3 young budding players of the Govco football team named Ackah Gershon, Abdul-Rahman Yunus and Awudi Alex.
In other games, Govco won their first netball match by defeating DATCO by 10:2. The college qualified in the table tennis competition but lost in the women’s volleyball to JASICO by 2:0. Govconians should not be disappointed, the competition is too young for any judgement for now. Lets keep our fingers crossed and see the surprises Govco will pull out. Besides the competition is not over yet.

This years inter-colleges sports competition for the volta sector colleges of education (teacher training colleges) is taking place at Akatsi College of Education in Akatsi in the volta region of Ghana.
