Lingering Memories of Zakariah Ali -(Old Student 1963-65)

The site has brought a lot of memories . Peki taught me the joy of hard work . Our principal of 1963 -65 encouraged us to study privately for educational advancement . We learned to combine correspondence courses for GCE with our regular teacher training college course work. I would forever cherish the memory of the two years I was a student at Peki .

The new TTAG President, Dugbazah Gershon has held high profile student leadership positions from Basic School through Senior High School to College of Education as Senior School Prefect, SRC President, College TTAG Rep. In his fight for rights and positive developments for students Dugbazah has strive and risen to the honorable position as the new TTAG President who will seek to address the problems that Teacher Trainees face in Ghana.

Dugbazah Gershon, the student visionary and pioneer of powerful ideas in Govco has done it again.
But this time round Dugbazah and his team have attended to the demands of the Govco ladies by leading the team on bringing world class and quality entertainment to the ladies by installing a fully loaded Multi Tv satelite Tv at their common room after a DSTV was installed for the men some months ago.

Teacher Trainees Enter Colleges By Default-Tsadidey

About 75 per cent of Teacher Trainees enter the training colleges by default. The former principal of Peki College of Education, Simon Wilberforce Tsadidey, has said “The students not because they want to be trained as professional teachers, but use the training college as a springboard to enter other professions during and after their training. Available statistics indicates that, though the 38 public training colleges nationwide admit 9,000 students each academic year, about 1,000 of them abandon their courses in midstream to enter other institutions particularly the nursing training schools,” Mr Tsadidey made this assertion when he chaired the March Edition of this year’s West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) monthly seminar in Accra. Second Years Teacher Trainees Rewrite Exam Paper Successfully

The HIV/AIDS Education Exam Paper of first semester for second years teacher trainees in all Colleges of Education in Ghana was rewritten successfully on Monday 29th of September, 2010 from 9AM-11AM. The paper was first written in February this year but was cancelled due to detected errors in the question format.
