ADMISSION INTO COLLEGES OF EDUCATION (TEACHER TRAINING COLLEGES) – GHANA
(DIPLOMA IN BASIC EDUCATION) – 2011/2012

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Colleges of Education ( Teacher Training Colleges) in september, 2011.

Candidates who qualify for admission can buy Admission Forms from the nearest College of Education or from Teacher Division of GES ( opposite Accra Workers College ) .

*A set of two admission forms and three sponsorship forms cost Fifty Ghana Cedis(GH¢50).

ELIGIBILITY/MINIMUM ADMISSION/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

The Minimum Entry Requirements Into Diploma in Basic Education Course In Colleges of Education (Teacher Training Colleges) In Ghana Are As Follows:

i. WASSCE Candidates: Aggregate 36 or better in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects comprising (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science) and three (3) other subjects.

ii. SSSCE Candidates: Aggregate 24 or better in six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core Subjects Comprising (English, Mathematicss, Integrated Science) and three (3) other subjects.

iii. SC/GCE ‘O’ Level: Aggregate 36 or better in six (6) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, a science (General Science, Agric Science, Health Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and Three (3) other subjects.

Requirements For Applicants who wish to pursue French Course:

iv. SSSCE/WASSCE Candidates: An Aggregate of 24/36 in six (6) subjects (Core English, Core Mathematics and four (4) other subjects including Elective French)

v. SC/GCE(O Level): An Aggregate of 36 or better in six(6) subjects including (English, Mathematics & French)

APPLICANTS ARE TO NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
Note:
1.Applicants should seek sponsorship from a District Director of Education after gaining admission into a College of Education. Failure to get sponsorship will lead to withdrawal from college
2.Applicants are required to present their admission letters to the District Director of Education of the sponsoring district for their for forms to be endorsed.
3.After completing the forms, applicants are advised to return these forms latest by FRIDAY 27TH MAY, 2011 to the Principal of his or her College of 1st Choice.
